AVIF Compressor

AVIF is the most efficient image format available today — already delivering 40–50% smaller files than JPG. But AVIF files exported at maximum quality still have room to shrink. Reducing quality from 90% to 70–80% typically cuts file size by another 20–35% while keeping output visually indistinguishable from the original.

VIPToolkit's AVIF compressor runs in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Note: AVIF encoding requires a Chromium-based browser (Chrome or Edge) — Firefox and Safari can display AVIF but do not yet support encoding via Canvas.

Common use cases: compressing AVIF assets before deploying to production, reducing AVIF file sizes for a bandwidth-constrained web project, and fine-tuning the quality/size tradeoff for next-gen image pipelines.
