PNG Compressor

PNG is a lossless format — the Canvas API cannot reduce its file size the way it can with JPG or WebP, because there are no quality tradeoffs to make. What this compressor does is re-encode the PNG through the browser's native Canvas pipeline, which in some cases produces a smaller output than the original (particularly for PNGs exported from design tools with unoptimised metadata).

For significant PNG size reduction, the most effective route is converting to WebP or AVIF using the Image Converter tool — both support transparency and deliver far smaller files. VIPToolkit's PNG compressor is for cases where you specifically need to stay in PNG format.

Common use cases: re-encoding bloated PNG exports from Figma or Photoshop, reducing PNG screenshot sizes for documentation, and preparing PNG assets for upload to platforms with file size limits.
