Yes. Unlike text extraction, page rendering works on any PDF including scanned documents, because it renders the visual content of each page as an image rather than extracting a text layer.

The resolution preset was likely set too low. Switch to 144 DPI for general use or 216 DPI for print-ready output. The 72 DPI setting is intended only for small web thumbnails.
