How the PDF Word Counter works

VIPToolkit's PDF Word Counter uses the PDF.js rendering engine to extract the full text layer page by page, then calculates total words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, paragraphs, and page count. It also provides average words per page, estimated reading and speaking times, and a keyword density breakdown of your most frequent terms. Processing happens entirely in your browser — your PDF is never uploaded to any server, making it safe for confidential reports, legal documents, contracts, and proprietary content.

A note on scanned PDFs
